Innovations in Incidence Geometry

IIG will soon become an MSP journal!

General Information

Innovations in Incidence Geometry is an international journal founded by the research group Incidence Geometry, Ghent University. The first volume has appeared in May 2005.

Innovations in Incidence Geometry publishes carefully selected and peer-reviewed original research papers of the highest quality about all aspects of Incidence Geometry. These include

  • Finite Geometry,
  • Projective and Affine Planes,
  • Generalized Polygons and other Rank 2 Geometries,
  • Tits-Buildings and Diagram Geometries,
  • Geometry of Groups,
  • Galois Geometry,
  • Finite Algebraic Geometry,
  • Incidence Geometric Aspects of Algebraic Combinatorics,
  • Topological Incidence Geometry.

Contributions in related areas will also be considered if they have a significant bearing on Incidence Geometry. Exceptionally, survey articles can be considered, but only if they are of the highest level.

Authors retain all copyrights of their publications, and in particular they have the right to put the final version of the paper on their own website and to distribute it freely.

Information for Authors

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the Managing Office through the journal's homepage Initial submissions are accepted in PDF only. Keep in mind that we require a LaTeX source file if your submission will be accepted, so it is advisable to prepare your initial file in LaTeX as well. Please keep formatting macros to a minimum.

Articles which are accepted for publication, have to be prepared in LaTeX using our class file iig.cls. An example on how to use the class file can be found here.

The IIG class file supports both BibTeX and amsrefs. To use BibTeX, download the BibTeX style file iig.bst, and use \bibliographystyle{iig}. To use amsrefs, make sure you are using the latest iig.cls file, and simply use it with the option [amsrefs]. (Do not load the amsrefs package yourself.)

The class file uses the Bitstream Charter font, which is installed by default on most LaTeX systems; if you get an error about missing fonts, you might have to install an additional package to get these fonts. (For example, on MiKTeX systems, the package is called

Authors will receive a printable PDF file of their article, free of charge. Paper reprints may be ordered upon request.

The official abbreviation for Innovations in Incidence Geometry is "Innov. Incidence Geom.". Please use this abbreviation when you refer to a paper published in this journal.
